Mike has been watching Olivia since he is done with school. I thought he was aware that Olivia loves to take her diaper off but I was wrong. When he put Olivia down for a nap on Monday he didn't button her outfit so she had easy access to the diaper. Unfortunately she pooped and took off her diaper but lucky for him she didn't play with it. She got poo on her sheets and clothes. Mike took care of the baby and gave her a bath and I came home from work for lunch and cleaned the rest. Lucky for me we have the sprayer for our cloth diapers that spray all the poo particles off.
So Mike is looking for a civil engineering job. Prospects are slim for entry level civil engineers. I am trying to stay hopeful that things will work out.
But it has been super nice to have Mike home and not having to worry about going to school, doing homework, or studying for a test.
I took Olivia out for a ride in the bike trailer and she loved it. I think she was a little scared too because we were cruising. It is amazing how much faster a road bike can go than a mountain bike.

Happy Mother's Day
We had a big fun weekend in Park City this week. The weather was nice and sunny. We went swimming outside in the heated pool which was the first of the sun Mike, Olivia and I have seen since last fall. We all got sunburned. Olivia and I, not so bad. Mike is super red.
Mike bought me a sweet road bike on Friday. He wanted me to start road biking and he has been saving his pennies and we finally made the purchase. I found a great deal on road bike shoes at pearl izumi in Park City too. I am excited and nervous. Excited because we are going to do a sprint triathlon in two weeks but nervous because I still have to learn and practice how to clip in and clip out with out falling over.

youtube and my hair
So I'll admit that I am not a big youtube or twitter user but I am slowly converting. I found this awesome yourtube series by Kandee Johnson who is a makeup dresser former hair stylist in Hollywood. I highly recommend checking it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson
I have come to learn if there is anything I want to learn and I mean anything I can search it on youtube and chances are I will find it. So I have been feeling blah and frustrated with my hair. I've never been big into my hair until like 5 years ago. It was pretty plain jane for me. And then I got bangs like 2 years ago and that is a love/hate relationship. I love the bangs but some days I just can't style them.
I have a lot to learn about hair, hair product, styling, blow drying etc. My mom wears no makeup and rarely styles her hair. My other sisters have long asian hair and mine is shorter and it isn't quite as thick as mine. So I never really learned about all that hair stuff. I have gone to get my hair cut and styled and it always comes out fabulous. But I never really knew all about the product they used.
This is embarrassing to admit but I watched Kandee's video on how to blow dry your hair straight. In the past I used the blow dryer to only dry my hair and used my flat iron to straighten and style it. When I watched her video I realized that I should be using the blow dryer to do most of the styling and the flat iron for the finishing touches. I also learned that I should only blow dry my bangs and not use the flat iron (which has been my problem the whole time). I've been a cheapskate on buying product but I think I am finally convinced that it is worth the investment to save me the daily heartache of styling my hair.
So today I tried the new technique and it require more effort blow drying but in the long run it saved me time. Now I need to actually buy a round hair brush.

random thoughts
So I really love my iphone and I thought I would talk about some awesome apps I have downloaded. Period Tracker lite - great app to track symptoms of PMS, when I get my period and it will tell me when I am fertile or ovulating based on a 28 day cycle (can be changed if different). Mobile RSS - Great RSS feeder that allows me to read all the blogs I subscribe to. Grocery Gadget - electronic grocery list. Nike + iPod - I think this already come on the iphone but I finally got it hooked up and I have my running data feeding to facebook and twitter. I am hoping this will keep me motivated to run regularly. Touchmouse - allows my phone to act as a mouse for my laptop which is convenient when we have our laptop attached to the TV.
So I am trying to get back into shape. I have actually gone running twice already this week. I am not much of a morning person but I love running in the morning when it is still chilly and listening to nature before cars come out and watching the sunrise. And I feel like I accomplish so much more when I work out in the morning and I seem to have more energy. As of this week I have been waking up at 6:15 but my goal is 5:30.
And of course I would love to shed a few pounds while getting back into shape. Here are my little goals so far. Drink atleast 3 bottles of water from my camelbak. When I have to go to the restroom at work to go to the basement (I work on the second floor) and climb the stairs to the fourth floor. Use the bathroom on the fourth floor and come back to my cubie. Doesn't sound like much but hopefully it will be enough to get my glutes firmed up. My goal is to do that twice a day. And maybe when I am in super shape I'll go down Old Main stairs and climb back up them. And I hope to start running 3 times a week between 3-5 miles.
There is a sprint triathlon going on in 2 weeks that Mike and I are thinking about participating in. I am a terrible swimmer but I think I can swim 300 m and I don't have my own road bike yet. But if anyone is in the Logan area that would like to do it with me, email me. We can be newbies together. Check out the website: http://joyridebikes.com/triathlon/
